Blanket Squares
- Blanket squares may be knit or crochet.
- Size - Blanket squares should measure between 6, 7, 8 or 12 inches square. We can make any size work, but working within this range will make assembling comfort blankets easier.
- Blanket squares can be made in any color, or color combination, that you desire. Have fun. Remember that we will be distributing blankets to men, women, teens, children, and babies. We will group complimentary like squares together with recipients in mind.
- As long as the yarn is soft to the touch, you may use any good quality yarn. You will find some easily found recommendations below.
- The yarn you choose to use must be washable. A washable wool is acceptable. Cotton yarns are a good choice as well for those allergic to wool and acrylics. Please read care labels carefully.

We are working to set up a delivery box for The Blanket Project. In the meantime, you may e-mail Kelly at heartinhandproject@gmail.com for a shipping address.
How to ship your blanket squares:
- Please enclose your squares in plastic zippy bags to protect against moisture during shipping.
- Include an index card in your package that includes your name, mailing address, e-mail address, web address if any so we can post a link under contributors on our website.

The following yarns work up well for comfort blankets. These yarns are easy to work with, soft, and can be washed and dried.
